Habits To Give Up In The New Year

As we start a new year, we dedicate ourselves in making promises we probably won't keep. Making resolutions is good because it helps us plan ahead for the year and also help get things done for the year, But resolutions are made to adopt new practices instead of eliminating the already-existing bad habits from the previous year or from the years before. Most times the answer to a happier, healthier year lies in what we decide to give up in the new year but not the things we vow to do.
There are so many bad habits that needs to be dropped in the new year for a more healthier and fulfilled year so this new year let's make a resolution that's achievable and try breaking one of our unhealthy habits from the previous year.
Most of us have a tendency to focus on what we didn’t accomplish in the previous year. So, as you get ready to set your goals in the new year, think about giving up some of the things that might be holding you back.
    Bad or unhealthy habits might be things you don't really take into consideration but are the main roots of problem but getting to know what your bad habits are is actually the first step in getting rid of bad habits and we can actually take notes of this by studying ourselves and asking friends and families.
Bad and unhealthy habits come in different forms, for me one of my bad habits is my phone addiction, yes everyone in this generation seem to be like that but to be honest it kills more than anything because at the end of the day we don't get anything done after being on the phone all day. There are so many other addictions that are out there that we need to stop before we launch into the year.
     Another unhealthy habit that seem to be causing havoc is smoking, let me say 90% of our youth smoke but honestly the smoking is not the problem but the regular and addicting type causes a lot of damage, there are actually some people that can't function or focus without smoking and that just kills slowly. No one is telling you not to smoke but do it with moderation. Some of you may consider it as a stress buster when it’s actually a cancer-inducing human killer. Once you kick the addiction, you can become healthy again, save time and money. Most importantly you will be able to save yourself. It won't be easy, but half of the smokers do not even try.
You don't have to stop it abruptly, but start by cutting from 5 cigarettes to 2 cigarettes a day.
  Another unhealthy habit we need to cut is skipping breakfast which is the most important meal to keep up the energy levels throughout the day.
It could be having a bowl of corn flakes or any kind of cereal, you can also carry fruits or nuts to munch on but skipping breakfast is one habit we must stop this year.
   Another unhealthy habit is complaining and comparing, this has ruined so many opportunities and caused so many problems. As humans, we all have moments we complain but once it becomes an habit then we need to watch it.
